The long history of Colussi began in 1791 with Giacomo Colussi, the founder and precursor of the family art. From Giacomo onwards, the business was handed down in Venice to following generations, together with the passion for know-how and the constant search for excellence.

The Misura brand is bought from the multinational Heinz, and this marks the company’s first step into the world of healthy food products.

The company extends its production of rusk and begins exporting pasta, taking over the Audisio brand from Dutch multinational CSM.

Colussi acquires Agnesi Group, including the Agnesi and Ponte brands, from Danone, enhancing its market share in the pasta category.

Colussi buys Albea 90, company specialised in the industrial production of bread.

Colussi takes over Pangram (Romania) with a view to increasing its share of the eastern European pasta market.
In the same year, it signs an agreement with Del Monte for the exclusive distribution of canned fruit in the large-scale retail channel.

The production in Russia expands when a third plant with adjoining mill is built in Balashov, a region in Saratov famous for its durum wheat cultivation.

Colussi acquires the majority of share in Dr. Klaus Karg’s KG (Dr. Karg’s), a German company specialized in bread substitutes and healthy snacks production. This acquisition expands growth opportunities for both companies in bakery products internationally.
